ARTIST STATEMENT

The focus of my career is in the Fine Arts and as such to offer any other form than original works of art would be to lessen the integrity of the art world as a whole. I have been told by several of my collectors that my art has a positive impact on their lives therefore, I continue to create endlessly. During my career I have learned that art and beauty truly are in the eye of the beholder and intensely allow others to debate. After all isn't that my job!

Biography

I was born and raised in upstate New York as a life long artist; art has been woven into the very nature of my being. I never give up I continue to pursue my world endlessly. I began my professional art career in 1997. During that time the resources where limited to purchase art supplies so I did what an artist would do and turned to a true form of inspiration and found organic objects from the earth to create with. Creating sculptures with these objects photographing them in black and white film than dismantling each one returning the organic material back to earth. Sculpturing in bronze, with the help of a few fellow artists I later taught myself wood, stone and clay sculpting. Painting in oil, acrylic, pastel, mixed media and pen & ink are several more mediums I work in. In 1999 I was offered the opportunity to teach stone carving to visually impaired students and found this experience to be one of my most rewarding memories. Another memory is when I created and sold art in the famed New Orleans, Jackson Square the solidarity of the artist left a very lasting impression on me.

In 2005 I developed a business in upstate New York, Dine on Art which provided restaurants a unique opportunity to have artwork created on-site during the time guests waited to be seated.
In 2008 my mother was deonized with cancer and I chose to relocate full time to Florida, caring for her on a day to day bases has had a profound impact on my current body of work.

Working endlessly to build new bodies of work which reflect the ever changing world around me as my internal world changes.
